Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy going through this personalized virtual tour we put together for you.
Our Story

Our first encounter was at the renowned PhD coffee machine.

Fresh into his PhD, Nick was constantly dreaming of his exotic travels while Cynthia was happy to sing Lebanon’s praises.

Soon enough, coffee conversations turned into sunsets and night walks. Before you know it, Nick was introducing Cynthia to Jenever, and Cynthia was introducing Nick to Arak.
This is how Anis met Juniper, walking back and forth in the corridors of the Faculty of Architecture.

About Beit Huyam

More than two decades ago, Hiyam and Antoine embarked on a journey to build a home from scratch in Fatre.
Over the years, this home grew organically to become a living museum of their personal adventures and travels.
From Antoine's whimsical collection of frogs to Hiyam's collection of women from all around the world,

their home turned into a celebration of the unique and the diverse filled with memories and cherished belongings.

They named it Beit Huyam which translates to the House of Passion, a labor of love and a testament to their own passion for art and architecture. Today, Beit Huyam is an eclectic abode with a story in every corner.
We invite you to immerse yourselves in the unique charm of Beit Huyam. We hope you enjoy, wander,

and discover the magic that is created in this special place.

A heartfelt thank you to Hiyam and Antoine for transforming their home into a haven for family, love, and friendships.
Tip: Make sure to visit the cactus room, check out the giant puppeteer’s hands, and keep an eye out for all sorts of other surprises in the garden.

About the village
Fatre is a small village 45 kilometers north of Beirut. At an average elevation of 500 meters above sea level, perfectly located on a hillside, you can expect to see magnificent views. Here’s a glimpse of the view from Beit Huyam.
Tip: Fatre is also the home of Emm El khayrat, one of the best local Lebanese cheeses you can find!

Make sure to try it on your way back to Beirut.

Your stay

Villa Joie
For our friends and family flying in from abroad, we recommend the lovely guesthouse Villa Joie.

Villa Joie is located higher up the hills of Fatre*, very close to the wedding venue.

It is composed of several individual villas that can host two to eight people each, so sharing is a possibility!

One of the many perks of this guesthouse is that it has several swimming pools for you to experience and enjoy the warm Lebanese summer weather.

Feel free to check out the ‘Villa Joie’ website here

If you are having difficulty making a reservation online, please let us know and we will assist you with your booking.

If you are happy sharing a villa with other guests, please mention it in your RSVP and we will arrange a pairing and connect you when the time comes.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions please reach out.

* Villa Joie is also marked for you on our map!

Other options
If you are feeling adventurous, please don’t hesitate to explore alternatives in the area. Byblos, locally called Jbeil,

also one of the world’s oldest cities, is a lovely alternative located around 20 minutes away by car.
Some of our personal favorite accommodations in the area are:
Zita Fidar | Beit Noun | Beit Faris and Lucia

ON THE DAY

Venue: Beit Huyam| Date: Sunday 24 August 2025 | Time: 5:30 pm

The atmosphere is one of an intimate gathering with cherished friends and family. You can expect delicious Lebanese food, lovely music, and unlimited Jenever and Arak all night! The intention is for you to feel at home and the evening might end with us seated on the grass or gathered around a fire for a night cap.

What to wear?
As the Dutch say:

Doe maar normaal dan ben je al gek genoeg!

Finding a middle ground between Dutch simplicity and Lebanese extravagance can be tricky. So we encourage you to Come as you wish. Whether you would like to embrace glamour or shine in a Garden Chic attire, all styles are welcome at our party!

Tip: The setting is a Lebanese summer evening in a lovely garden in the mountains. Having comfortable shoes and a light jacket might be key to your enjoyment.
